About the campaign

B2B technology conferences are usually presented through an earnest, product-first lens that can feel dry to anyone outside the core ecosystem, and Salesforce wanted Dreamforce to lift brand awareness, product knowledge and advocacy while driving viewership to its Salesforce+ streaming platform and making its AI story accessible. Collectively's insight was that corporate professionals respond to two distinct content modes, humor rooted in shared workplace identity and education that helps them stay current, and that serving both in parallel from one event avoids diluting either.

The agency built two creator streams around the conference: comedy creators @Corporate.Bro and @CorporateNatalie attended Dreamforce in person, producing satirical insider Instagram Reels, Stories and LinkedIn posts with the event as backdrop rather than sales pitch, while four tech-career creators worked remotely to spotlight Salesforce+ and its AI content for information-first audiences. Paid social amplification with a mass-awareness reach objective ran across Instagram and LinkedIn.

The campaign delivered 16.6 million paid and organic impressions, 5.5 times the projection, along with 1.3 million engagements, an 81.78 percent in-feed video view rate reported at 20 times benchmark, 11,200 link clicks and 9.9 million unique paid reach at a $2.52 CPM. It was a Shorty Awards Technology finalist and won Best B2B Campaign at Hello Partner.

Case in 60 seconds

Salesforce needed to lift brand awareness, product knowledge, and advocacy for both the company and its annual Dreamforce conference, while driving viewership to the Salesforce+ digital streaming platform and making AI advancements accessible to professional audiences.

Corporate professionals respond to two distinct content modes: humor that captures attention through shared workplace identity, and educational content that satisfies the desire to stay current with industry trends. Serving both within one program avoids dilution.

Collectively designed two parallel creator streams around Dreamforce — comedy creators giving a satirical insider view of the conference, and tech-career creators explaining Salesforce+ and its AI content — so that attention-first and information-first audiences each received content tuned to them.

Comedy creators @Corporate.Bro and @CorporateNatalie attended Dreamforce in person, producing Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, and LinkedIn posts. Four additional tech-focused creators worked remotely to spotlight Salesforce+ and AI themes. Paid social amplification with a mass-awareness reach objective ran across Instagram and LinkedIn.

The campaign delivered 16.6M paid and organic impressions — 5.5x the projected figure — 1.3M engagements, and 11.2K link clicks. It was named a Shorty Awards 16th Annual Technology finalist and won Best B2B Campaign at Hello Partner.

Strategy Breakdown

The primary strategy-learning section — interpretation, not a press-release summary.

The campaign targeted two overlapping professional segments: general corporate and business professionals receptive to humor rooted in workplace culture, and tech-career professionals actively seeking to understand Salesforce products and AI developments. Both segments were present at Dreamforce in person and reachable via Salesforce+ online, according to Collectively's own case study.
B2B technology conferences are typically presented through an earnest, product-first lens. For audiences outside the core Salesforce ecosystem, this register can feel inaccessible or dry. Comedy creators offered an entry point that acknowledged the sometimes absurd rituals of corporate life while still placing the audience inside the Dreamforce experience.
B2B software brands historically rely on white-papers, keynotes, and professional media to build awareness. Influencer-led creator content in the B2B space risks feeling out of place or trivializing product substance. Collectively's brief required the campaign to be credible to tech professionals while still being shareable enough to achieve mass reach.
Salesforce acted as host and platform rather than broadcaster, providing event access and Salesforce+ content for creators to work with. The brand's presence in comedy content was contextual (Dreamforce as backdrop) rather than promotional, while the educational stream made Salesforce+ and AI features the explicit subject matter, according to the Collectively case study.
Splitting a campaign across humor-first and education-first streams respects a documented behavioral difference: attention-driven audiences share content that entertains, while information-driven audiences engage with content that helps them do their jobs. Running both in parallel from the same event meant one creative program could serve both modes without either message diluting the other.

Why Collectively's strategy worked

  1. 1

Splitting a B2B campaign into parallel humor-first and education-first streams lets a single program serve audiences with different content expectations without one mode diluting the other, a structure Collectively cited as central to the campaign's design.

  2. 2

Casting creators already associated with satirical corporate content — @Corporate.Bro and @CorporateNatalie — gave Dreamforce coverage a native, insider feel that matched the platform behavior of Instagram Reels and LinkedIn, rather than reading as brand promotion.

  3. 3

On-site creator presence at a live event generates content that audiences cannot easily replicate themselves, giving the posts an access and authenticity value that remote or studio content cannot match.

  4. 4

Pairing organic creator content with a paid social amplification layer built for mass-awareness reach — rather than conversion — appears to have contributed to the 5.5x impressions over projection and the 24% above-goal paid reach, suggesting the content quality supported paid distribution efficiency.

  5. 5

B2B technology events can serve as creative briefs in their own right: the Dreamforce setting gave creators a shared cultural reference point that required no additional constructed brand context.

  6. 6

Hello Partner attributed success to the blend of humor and educational insights resonating with the target audience, reinforcing that tonal diversity within a single campaign can be a strength rather than a risk in B2B contexts.
