About the campaign
In January, gym marketing hits peak saturation, and The Gym Group needed to stand out on TikTok and become the provider people choose for New Year fitness goals as the UK's best value 24/7 gym. New Year resolution season pushes people toward the gym while gym culture itself, with its anxiety, accessibility and embarrassment pain points, pushes many of them away. Rival brands were all concentrating their spend on people already invested in fitness. Socially Powerful's insight was to invert that: go after the market everyone else ignores, on the platform where that audience already is.
The idea was to democratise gym culture, breaking gym stereotypes with light-hearted, Gen Z driven creator content that celebrates every type of gym-goer at every level. The TikTok campaign combined a Top-View ad, sponsored posts from creators using #WeAreTheGymGroup, and product seeding to over 500 nano creators who produced organic content on the campaign concept, with a diverse creator portfolio representing all fitness levels rather than showcasing ideal bodies or elite training.
Targeting the audience the category ignores gave the brand clear air in the most cluttered month of the year, while a single branded hashtag tied paid creator posts and organic seeded content into one recognisable campaign. The work ran on TikTok. Socially Powerful reports 15M views, 1M clicks and 500K engagements, and separately states over 59M views after the nano-creator seeding, an unreconciled discrepancy. All figures are self-reported, and no campaign year, budget or membership outcome is disclosed.
Case in 60 seconds
Azzaro, a luxury fragrance brand under L'Oreal, had no TikTok presence and needed to launch its new fragrance The Most Wanted to a Gen-Z audience the brand had never reached on the platform.
The agency cited platform behaviour showing 52% of TikTok users actively explore new products and respond to aspirational transformation videos, a native genre the fragrance could sit inside.
A "mundane to extraordinary" concept that made the fragrance the pivot point of transformation-style TikTok videos instead of importing traditional luxury advertising.
More than 20 curated US TikTok creators from fashion, lifestyle, entertainment and men's grooming produced content in their own styles, supplemented with paid social to extend distribution.
The agency reports 59M reach and 1.5M engagements across the creator roster. No independent source verifies these figures and no sales or brand-lift data was disclosed.

Why Socially Powerful's strategy worked
- 1
Matching a native format beat importing brand advertising: transformation videos are an established TikTok genre, so a luxury launch could sit inside behaviour users already had.
- 2
Spreading 20+ creators across fashion, lifestyle, entertainment and men's grooming gave one campaign access to several TikTok subcultures instead of a single audience pocket.
- 3
Paid social behind organic creator content extended a first-time platform entry beyond what the creators' own followings would deliver.
- 4
A category-entry brief, first TikTok activation for the brand, benefits from curated creator selection rather than volume alone, the agency emphasised curation over creator count.
