Herradura: Hispanic Cultural Engagement Campaign
Nativa built a social-listening-led influencer campaign for Herradura Reposado, analyzing more than 54,000 tequila-related conversations to place the Herradura Cantarito at the center of Hispanic heritage storytelling.
Case in 60 seconds
Herradura held strong positive sentiment among tequila drinkers but lower memorability than larger competitors, so the brand needed a reason to stay in mind with U.S. Hispanic consumers rather than a correction to how it was regarded.
The campaign appears to turn on the reading that Hispanic tequila conversation is organized around occasion rather than product, so a traditional cocktail already tied to family gatherings and cultural pride offered a route into memory that a product claim alone could not.
Anchor Herradura Reposado to the Herradura Cantarito, a Jalisco cocktail built on fresh citrus and craftsmanship, so that heritage storytelling rather than product promotion carried the brand's claim as the world's first reposado.
Nativa identified and coordinated three Hispanic influencers already making food, drink and lifestyle content, each producing one Instagram Reel under 60 seconds featuring Herradura Reposado and the cantarito recipe, guided by a content deck covering product visibility, cocktail preparation, captions, responsible drinking language, FTC disclosures, brand approval and performance reporting.
Nativa reports a culturally nuanced strategy delivered through three creator-led Instagram Reels that positioned the Cantarito as a storytelling vehicle for history, taste and Mexican craft, and reports no reach, engagement or sales figures against that work.

Why Nativa's strategy worked
- 1
Positive sentiment and low memorability are different problems with different remedies, because a brand that is already liked gains more from a distinctive occasion to own than from further work on how it is perceived.
- 2
Listening at category scale, in this case more than 54,000 tequila-related conversations, can be used to select a creative object rather than to size an audience, which is what let a single cocktail carry the whole strategy.
- 3
A regulated category benefits from governing creator work through a single content deck, because responsible drinking language, FTC disclosures and brand approval then travel with the brief rather than being negotiated creator by creator.
- 4
Casting creators who already make food and drink content lets a branded recipe sit inside an existing content habit, so the heritage message reads as continuous with the feed rather than inserted into it.
